Aaron Judge hits 58th home run, homers in fifth straight game
NEW YORK — The Yankees popped the bubbly to celebrate clinching the American League East title on Thursday night, and Aaron Judge’s red-hot bat helped lead them there.
Judge homered for a fifth consecutive game in Thursday’s 10-1 win, blasting his Major League-leading 58th home run off the Orioles’ Bryan Baker in the seventh inning.
The two-run drive, a Statcast-projected 394-foot blast that left Judge’s bat at 110.9 mph, came with Juan Soto aboard and gave the Yankees a 9-0 lead at the time.
It marks the second time in Judge’s career that he has homered in five straight games, matching his output from July 29 through Aug. 2, 2020.
Per MLB.com’s Sarah Langs, Judge is the first player in Yankees history with multiple home run streaks of at least five games in his career.
Judge also previously homered in four consecutive games on three occasions: Sept. 3-7, 2022, May 22-25, 2024 and Aug. 20-23, 2024.
