There’s more than a week remaining before the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game comes to Phoenix and the anticipation is growing around the downtown area.
Nike added to the excitement with ads featuring Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson and New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu on buildings near Footprint Center. Both players will be representing Team USA at the All-Star Game, featuring 12 of the best players in the WNBA against the squad going to the Paris Olympics.
Wilson has been leading the league all season in scoring with 27.0 points per game and adding 10.9 rebounds per game. Wilson was just named the cover athlete for NBA 2K25’s WNBA edition and will appear alongside Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum for the first-ever dual-league NBA 2K cover featuring its All-Star Edition.
Ionescu is one of the best guards in the WNBA with 19.0 points per game and 6.3 assists per game. She will be making her Olympic debut this summer. Ionescu’s ad faces the Phoenix Convention Center from Third Street on the side of the Bank of America tower. A second large ad began going up this week on the side of a tower at the Arizona Center facing Van Buren, between Third and Fourth streets.
Valley Metro has a full ad with the many players in the game on the side of light rail cars and ads at the stop by the arena. That signage features players like Phoenix Mercury wing Kahleah Copper, New York Liberty forward Breanna Stewart, and rookies Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese.
