A new promotional video for XDefiant appears to have playfully taken some swift jabs at its competitors, including the likes of Call of Duty, Battlefield, Fortnite, PUBG, and more…all in a single video!
XDefiant is Ubisoft’s brand-new first-person shooter that has often been referred to by fans as a potential “Call of Duty killer.” At the helm of this new, fast-paced shooter is none other than Mark Rubin, who was previously an executive producer at Infinity Ward, the studio behind multiple Call of Duty titles.

“What Happened To Our Beloved Franchise?”: Battlefield 2042’s Dead Space Crossover Is The Final Straw For Fans
Fans think Battlefield 2042’s Dead Space collaboration is nothing more than a “skin bundle cash grab.”
While Ubisoft itself has never labelled XDefiant as a “Call of Duty killer,” it won over the majority of FPS fans prior to its launch when it confirmed that the shooter would not include any form of skill-based matchmaking within its casual playlists. But for fans searching for that competitiveness, XDefiant’s very first season has just added a new Ranked Play mode.
Despite the fact that XDefiant has refused to acknowledge the “Call of Duty killer” term thrown around by fans, it doesn’t seem to have any issue with poking fun at some of its competitors.
In a new promotional video that was released earlier this week, Ubisoft listed a plethora of reasons as to why players should play just one more match of XDefiant. It’s easy to miss, as the reasons listed are transitioning at a rapid rate, but fans didn’t miss the cheeky jab that was taken at Call of Duty.
“Embrace the call without the duty,” one of the reasons listed in the XDefiant video states. There were also multiple other jabs thrown, such as: “Win more than a chicken dinner,” which is a clear jab at PUBG’s famous “winner winner, chicken dinner” phrase that appears when players get a victory.
“Control the Battlefield like a phantom,” was another reason. And, finally, there was, “Don’t get totally tilted for once,” which appears to be a reference to Fortnite’s iconic point of interest, Tilted Towers.
