Key Takeaways
- Transcendent Modules define playstyles and aren’t created equally.
- Overcharged Edge, Cold Snap Watch, Duty and Sacrifice are top-tier Modules for Sharon, Viessa, and Yujin.
- Some Modules, like High Voltage for Bunny, are only useable by the Ultimate version of the Descendant.
Transcendent Modules are rare in The First Descendant and augment Descendants in unique ways. In many cases, these Modules define your entire playstyle, so it’s essential you know what’s good for each character.
The power of these Modules ranges from “meta” to utterly useless. With this in mind, here are 10 of the best Transcendent Modules you absolutely must keep if you get them.
I’ve included farming locations with each Transcendent Module, but you can also get most of them by combining Modules with Silion in Albion.
10 Overcharged Edge
Mega-Damage From The Shadows
Key Info | Details |
---|---|
Required Descendant | Sharon |
Where to obtain | Hard Mode Molten Fortress |
Ultimate Descendant exclusive? | No |
Sharon may be a niche Descendant, but she’s got some exceptional Transcendent Modules in her repertoire.
Overcharged Edge converts Sharon’s Camouflage to use Shield energy instead of MP. The change may not sound too dramatic, but it makes a huge difference in practice.
Sharon gets a significant damage buff when attacking after exiting Stealth. With no MP cost, Sharon can vanish whenever she pleases, dramatically increasing damage output.
Shields are nowhere near as impactful in The First Descendant Vs HP and DEF. With this in mind, using Shield as a resource shouldn’t affect survivability.
Sharon is arguably a little underpowered right now, but the developers are pretty reactive to feedback, so hopefully our resident assassin has her chance to shine in the future.
9 Cold Snap Watch
Instant Death
Key Info | Details |
---|---|
Required Descendant | Viessa |
Where to obtain | Sterile Land Normal or Hard: Repository Void Fusion Reactor |
Ultimate Descendant exclusive? | No |
Viessa has a pair of Transcendent Modules on this list, as her options are so powerful. Cold Snap Watch augments her Cold Snap ability, changing it from a shotgun-like effect into an AOE damage dealer.
Cold Snap Watch lays a massive sheet of ice on the floor, which deals tremendous damage over time. The ice remains on the floor for a good while, making it perfect for spawn-killing enemy mobs.
We all know that leveling up guns is a drag in The First Descendant. Abilities like Cold Snap Watch give weapon XP on kills, and you can dump sheets of ice on enemy spawns to delete them as they appear.
You can use this Transcendent Module to cheese enemy spawns in specific Battleground Missions. The ability is strong enough to use in any mobbing activity, but make sure you’re playing in a private lobby if you’re purposely abandoning quests early.
If you’re farming Gold and Kuiper instead of XP, Invasion Dungeons are a surprisingly decent place to do it as they’ve changed since launch.
8 Duty and Sacrifice
A Top-Tier Support Module
Key Info | Details |
---|---|
Required Descendant | Yujin |
Where to obtain | Hard Mode Pyromaniac |
Ultimate Descendant exclusive? | No |
I rarely see Yujin unless I play him, which is a shame, as he’s a super support Descendant.
Duty and Sacrifice augments Yujin’s Hyper Reactive Healing Ground. The ability has a crazy range and can reliably top up health bars from miles away.
The HP boost amount can be increased with HP Mods like Passionate Sponsor. If you combine these Modules, Duty and Sacrifice can restore an entire health bar instantly.
I get that big damage numbers are what we’re all here for, but you can play a viable support role in The First Descendant.
Yujin’s farm may be a drag, but he’s well worth the grind, and your teammates will love you.
7 Supply Firearm Enhancer
And You Only Use Enzo For Vaults…
Key Info | Details |
---|---|
Required Descendant | Enzo |
Where to obtain | Encrypted Vaults on Vespers and White-night Gulch |
Ultimate Descendant exclusive? | No |
Enzo can use a remarkable Transcendant Module in Supply Firearm Enhancer.
The Module is exceptional in Collosi battles as it buffs Weak Point damage and Critical Hit Rates for firearms. Your allies can take advantage of the effect, making Enzo a brilliant support Descendant.
Supply Firearm Enhancer also makes Enzo a solid weapon-platform Descendant who can utilize many of the best weapons in the game. I’ve been rocking the Enduring Legacy lately, but the developers are always buffing underused kit.
For any Enzo enjoyers, remember you can only obtain this Transcendant Module from Ultra Precise Encrypted Vaults on Vespers and White-night Gulch.
You cannot obtain it any other way, even through combining.
6 Cold Bloodedness
Become An Ice Cold Generalist
Key Info | Details |
---|---|
Required Descendant | Viessa |
Where to obtain | Vespers Normal or Hard: Vespers Ruins Void Fusion Reactor |
Ultimate Descendant exclusive? | No |
Viessa has some cracked Transcendant Modules and paths to excel in every activity in the game. I’m showcasing Cold Bloodedness for its broad range of bonuses. It’s also a fun Module to use, as you can spam Viessa’s abilities with it.
Cold Bloodedness ramps up Viessa’s Skill Power while decreasing their Cost and Cooldowns.
The Cost and Cooldown reductions are so substantial you can freely spam her abilities with minimal downtime. Viessa’s Skill Damage output dramatically increases, and you can kill most mobs by looking at them. The damage is good enough for Colossi battles, too.
You can use Cold Bloodedness as part of any build, and Viessa will benefit as long as you rely on her deadly skills.
5 Supply Moisture
Don’t Drink It
Key Info | Details |
---|---|
Required Descendant | Valby |
Where to obtain | Fortress Normal or Hard: Frozen Valley Void Fusion Reactor |
Ultimate Descendant exclusive? | No |
Valby is a top-tier Descendant who can be used in every activity in the game. Her Transcendent Module pool is impressive, and Supply Moisture is arguably her best.
Supply Moisture activates whenever Valby is on water, which should be almost all of the time. While on water, Valby enjoys an increased Critical Hit Rate across the board. She also gains more Skill Duration, so her AoEs linger for longer.
The Transcendent Module offers blanket improvements for Valby, and that Critical Hit Rate bonus for her skills kicks her damage into the stratosphere. You can use Supply Moisture for most content in the game, and don’t even need a playstyle swap to enjoy the benefits.
4 Firearm Master
Reduce Your Foes To Ashes
Key Info | Details |
---|---|
Required Descendant | Lepic |
Where to obtain | Hard Mode Obstructor |
Ultimate Descendant exclusive? | Yes |
Lepic can output some of the absolute highest boss damage in the entire game. Firearm Master helps with this endeavor, increasing Lepic’s Skill Power when he changes weapon.
The stipulation is important as when you use Lepic’s Overkill ability, you’re technically swapping to a unique weapon. The power boost is no joke, clocking in at a whopping 39% for 5 seconds. If you’ve seen any Lepic showcases of bosses being deleted in seconds, you can thank Firearm Master for that.
You can erase many hard-mode bosses in under a minute solo with a decent build. There are a few moving parts to making Lepic “pop,” but Firearm Master is at the core of his game plan.
3 High Voltage
Haha, Get Out Of The Way!
Key Info | Details |
---|---|
Required Descendant | Bunny |
Where to obtain | Hard Mode Pyromaniac |
Ultimate Descendant exclusive? | Yes |
Thanks to her Lightning Emission ability, Bunny is easily the best mobbing Descendant in the game.
High Voltage augments the ability to hit fewer targets. That sounds like a terrible deal, but those enemies get zapped far harder than usual. The range is also dramatically increased, so you can fry enemies from afar.
Bunny’s gameplay loop remains unchanged with High Voltage, but her damage output usually soars into the hundreds of millions.
The Module can only be used by Ultimate Bunny, but the combo is so powerful that she’s worth the grind.
2 Contagion
The Toxin Queen Is Back!
Key Info | Details |
---|---|
Required Descendant | Freyna |
Where to obtain | Hard Mode Dead Bride |
Ultimate Descendant exclusive? | No |
At the time of writing, Ultimate Freyna is on the horizon, and wow, they made Contagion incredible! The developers have been on the buffing train since Season 1, and show no signs of stopping.
Contagion makes any enemy afflicted by Room 0 Trauma explode when it dies. That explosion spreads the Room 0 Trauma debuff, dealing ridiculous damage numbers.
Room 0 Trauma looks like Toxin damage, but it’s important to remember that it’s a unique debuff. This quirk means the effect hurts all enemies regardless of resistance.
Contagion is so good now; a well-built Freyna can even keep up with Valby and Bunny for mobbing.
If you’re excited about Ultimate Freyna, get your grubby mitts on Contagion ASAP.
1 Massive Sanguification
Gley Does It All
Key Info | Details |
---|---|
Required Descendant | Gley |
Where to obtain | Hard Mode Dead Bride |
Ultimate Descendant exclusive? | No |
Massive Sanguification has a goofy name but is a quintessential part of any Gley build.
The in-game description is pretty convoluted, but it’s basically a two-pronged augment affecting Gley’s Life Siphon.
While in Frenzy, Gley immediately gains three bars on her meter when she uses Increased Sensory.
If Gley is in a Non-Frenzied State, she gains HP based on the amount of nearby enemies and absorbs close Life Spheres.
In practice, Massive Sanguification improves Gley’s survivability while giving instant access to her Massacre Unique Weapon.
You can build Gley to be pretty tanky. My Weapon Platform build has 32k DEF and 24K HP! Despite those impressive numbers, Gley’s abilities all consume her health, and playing her is a delicate balancing act.
Massive Sanguification makes Gley easier to pilot, whether you’re using her for infinite ammo or her unique weapon.
